Miami Museum Month
May 01 – May 31
May is the month when Miami celebrates the city’s rich cultural history, and in order to celebrate it the way it is meant to be, museums have a lot of offers to make your trip better and cheaper! Because who doesn’t love free? Visitors and locals can enjoy “buy one, get one free admission” and “join one museum, see them all” offers. Enjoying Greater Miami’s uniquely diverse cultural scene has never been so much fun! Special events to celebrate the month include the “Miami Museum Month Kickoff Event”, which will be hosted by The Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau along with Art Deco Museum and the Miami Design Preservation League on May 02 at 6:00PM. During this event you’ll be able to get an exclusive preview of their new exhibit A Walk Down Memory Lave – South Beach Photos from the Late 1970s and Early 1980s. Brew at the Zoo
Brew at the Zoo is Miami’s largest Craft Beer Festival, with more than 100 craft beers, live music, food vendors, and many more! A little sneak peak for you: two-time Grammy Award winning band Arrested Development will be playing live during this amazing festival. This festival, which is celebrated annually, will be celebrated on Saturday May 07 from 8:00 PM to 11:00 PM, at Zoo Miami (1 Zoo Boulevard, 12400 SW 152 Street). General admission is $40 dollars, but walk in price is $50. VIP admission (which starts an hour before, at 7:00 PM) includes complimentary food, full size beer and spirit samplings is $90. Orange Bowl Paddle Championship
Now, if you are not a great fan of beer, on May 07 not only is the Brew at the Zoo happening, but also Miami will celebrate a Paddle Championship that will last all day and will be held at Miami Marine Stadium Flexpark. If you’d like to participate you have until May the 4th to sign up (PS. If you use the promo code OBIE10 you will get $10 off your registration fee!) The championship will start at 7:30 AM with the registration, but the first race will not begin until 9:00 AM. Not only is this an amazing sport and a great competition, but it is also a charity-driven event with focus on children and community; all funds raised by the event will go to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Miami to fund mentor activities in the area. Redland International Orchid Show
May 13 – May 15
Redland International Orchid Show is one of the largest annual orchid shows in the entire country and it lasts three days (May 13, 14, and 15) from 9 AM to 5 PM. In the show you will be able to enjoy more than 50 booths of orchid vendors and the tickets are only $10 per person. In this orchid show you will not only find exotic, beautiful flowers that will be for sale, but will also be able to enjoy lectures by experts in the field, raffles, and other activities and international delicacies! Florence + The Machine How Beautiful Tour
If you are a fan of Florence + The Machine or just love indie rock bands, then this is definitely an event for you. Florence + The Machine is coming to Miami on May 13 with their new How Beautiful Tour. The concert will be hosted in American Airlines Arena at 7:30 PM. iHeartRadio Summer Pool Party
What can you expect from iHeartRadio Summer Pool Party? How about unforgettable performances by the pool by stars like Jason Derulo, Flo Ride and Kygo?
